— Our story
Burānsh Stays began with a single restored stone cottage in Sari village. The first place in these hills that felt like home. We were city people once, fluent in meetings, deadlines, and the comfortable noise of it all. A trek to Uttarakhand was supposed to be a week away from that. We went back a week later. Then again.
Somewhere between wanting to build something and having no real plan for it, Burānsh Stays was born. No blueprint, just each other, and as we soon found out, the village too. The idea was small: a stay where the kitchen smelled of mandua roti, and where the trail to Deoria Tal could begin from the front step.
Why we do this
Hosting isn't impressing. It's connecting. We learned that the hard way. Weather that turns in minutes, supplies that don't always arrive, distances bigger than we were used to. What stayed with us wasn't the difficulty, it was what it taught: that a team can become family, that leading is showing up more than giving orders, and that the whole point was always the same.
A guest has an experience worth coming back for.
